What each item looks like

How your portrait is made
You upload one photo and pick one of 5 styles: oil painting, watercolour, charcoal sketch, pop art or impressionist. An AI image model then redraws your photo in that style. We ask it to keep the people, their pose and the layout of the photo as they are, and to add no words, signature or border, so the picture still looks like them, or like the place you chose.
Each preview carries a watermark and stays saved for 30 days, so you can come back to it on any device once your email is verified. You get three successful previews a day. If the first one isn't quite them, try another style, or a different photo.
Choosing the photo
Pick a photo where their face, or the place, is clear and well lit. The shortest side needs to be at least 800 pixels, and the file can be a JPEG, PNG or WebP of up to 10 MB. A photo of them, their garden or allotment, their boat, or the school or station they worked at is the kind of picture this portrait is made for.
What prints
When you order, we print the version you approved, without the watermark, cropped to the shape of the item you chose, as the preview frame shows. A digital download holds the whole picture. Photos you upload and don't buy are deleted after 30 days.
