There are two photo routes, and the photo you have decides which one to take. A recent, sharp photo can be printed just as it is. An older or softer one, or one you'd like to look more like a painting, can be turned into a portrait instead.

Upload the photo and we check it against every size we sell before you choose. Each size shows how sharp your photo will be at that size, and any size that would print soft is blocked, so you can't order a print that disappoints. Nothing is stretched to fill a bigger size: it prints at the photo's own resolution.
This suits a team photo from the leaving do, a picture of them at their desk or on the ward, or a well-loved family snap. It comes as a poster, a framed print, a canvas, a framed canvas, a metal or wood print, a mug, a water bottle, or a digital file you print yourself.

A photo of them, their garden, their boat or their workplace, turned into art in one of five styles.
The portrait starts from your photo and an AI image model redraws it in the style you choose: oil painting, watercolour, charcoal sketch, pop art or impressionist. You see a free watermarked preview first, after a quick email check, and nothing prints until you approve it. You get three successful previews a day.
Pictures from the middle of a career are often too small or too soft to enlarge well as they are. Redrawn as a portrait, they no longer have to be pin-sharp, which is why this route suits an old photo from an album or a works outing. The photo needs to be at least 800 pixels on its shortest side.
Which photo to use
The photos that work best as gifts are usually of the work itself: them in uniform, at the front of a classroom, behind the counter they ran, or outside the building on their first or last day. A photo of the place without them in it works too, such as the station, the school or the ship. If the gift is from family, an album may hold a picture the team at work has never seen.
Only upload photos you own or have permission to use. Both routes ask you to confirm that before the upload starts.
Delivery and returns
Everything is made to order and delivered free to UK addresses, in 4 to 9 working days. A digital file is emailed instead. Because each piece is made from your photo, it can't be returned for a change of mind, but if it arrives damaged or faulty we reprint or refund it.
If you don't have a good photo to hand, the name print needs no photo at all: their name, job, years and workplace, set in type.
